Burial Procedures

Williams

The family and/or funeral director will need to notify one of the Board members about the death and final arrangements. All burials must be coordinated in advance to assure everything conforms to the by-laws of the Bueche Cemetery.

If there is any question concerning the burial spot, please contact Carol Minard, Fred Bueche, or Don Ackermann to make arrangements to meet the family and/or funeral director out at the cemetery to make sure the grave is opened in the appropriate place. Opening and closing of graves is arranged for by the funeral director and charges are billed directly to the funeral home and paid by the family. The Board prefers that Garza Bros. Funeral Services be used for all opening/closing and tent services, since they are most familiar with the grounds. All area funeral homes should have their contact information. However, you can contact Albert Palmer (210-800-4571) Email: albertpalmerii@gmail.com.

Grave requirements are minimal, as long as the site has been approved by a board member. Headstone requirements are that all makers must face east, in conformity with other headstones (historical and cultural significance). A temporary grave marker must be provided by the funeral home at time of burial and a permanent headstone be erected within 90 days of burial. If there is a preexisting headstone on the site, the family will need to contact a monument company to engrave the date of death as soon as possible. A trustworthy firm is Russell and Clifton Meier at Meier Bros. Monuments (210-533-0535), Email: rgmeier@yahoo.com, Website: www.meierbrosinc.com
